To maintain your battery’s health, we suggest at the minimum a solar panel of at least 120 Watts. For even greater independence from the mains hookup, look at our larger kits.

Photovoltaic solar panels are coated with a thin layer of silicon. When sunlight hits the panel, photons are absorbed, leading to the separation of electrons from the silicon atoms, causing them to move. This generates a DC electric current that is gathered and directed through a controller to charge your 12v leisure battery.
The power generated by the solar panel is DC, which is compatible with your leisure battery and will charge it without any issues. You’ll need to connect your solar panel to a controller, which helps maintain the battery’s health by preventing it from draining when sunlight is insufficient.
