FEATURES

High speed charging

This 60A DC-DC charger delivers high-speed charging, ideal for quick top-ups while driving.
It uses a smart 3-stage charging process (Bulk, Absorption, Float) to bring your batteries to 100% safely and efficiently.

Smart Power Control

D+ Terminal – Voltanic’s DC-DC battery charger works seamlessly with both traditional and smart alternators. The D+ terminal acts as the ignition signal — when connected to the alternator or ignition circuit, it tells the charger to start operating.

LC+ Terminal – Enables smart current limiting. When connected to a 12V source, it reduces the charger’s output to 50% to protect smaller alternators or lighter wiring.

Compatible with Multiple Battery Types

Provides optimal charging for AGM, Flooded, Gel, and Lithium batteries, with smart voltage detection and tailored charging profiles to protect and extend battery life.

FAQ

What is a DC-DC charger and why do I need it?

A DC-DC charger (also called a battery-to-battery charger or B2B) connects your vehicle’s starter battery to your leisure battery. When your engine runs, the alternator charges the starter battery, our charger safely takes that energy and charges your leisure battery at the right voltage and current. It’s ideal for powering campervan electrics like lights, fridges, and water pumps while keeping your starter battery protected.

To choose the right size, here’s what you’ll need to check:

  1. Your vehicle has a 12V alternator and starter battery

  2. Your alternator’s output (in amps)

  3. Your leisure battery’s max charge current (check the spec or manual)

As a rule of thumb:
Our charger should not exceed 50% of your alternator’s output.
So, if your alternator is 120A, a 60A charger is a safe match.

Yes, the charger won’t turn on or operate until the D+ ignition cable is connected. Even if the charger is wired up, it will remain off until it detects voltage from the ignition.

To connect it, you may need to splice into your ignition circuit or make a cable adjustment. We recommend using 18–16 AWG copper cable.
This prevents the charger from turning on when it shouldn’t — like when only the starter battery is active — which could drain your starter battery.

The LC+ terminal limits the charger’s output to 50% — so instead of charging at 60A, it’ll charge at 30A. This is handy if you have a smaller alternator or lighter wiring that can’t handle full current.

If you’re using it, connect LC+ to the same point where your D+ ignition wire goes. Recommended wiring: 18–16 AWG copper cable.

Yes, it works with both smart and traditional alternators. Just make sure your alternator has at least 120A output to pair with a 60A charge. If your alternator is 100A or less, you can still use it, just make sure to connect the low current limit (this will drop the charge to 30A) to the ignition system.

Yes! Our DC-DC charger works with Lithium (LiFePO4), AGM, Gel, and standard lead-acid batteries. It adjusts automatically to give the correct charging profile.

Absolutely, it’s designed exactly for that. It’s perfect for vans, campers, motorhomes, or any off-grid setup where you want to keep your batteries topped up while driving.

Yes, this charger is ideal for off-grid systems and works great alongside solar panels. It safely charges your batteries when you’re on the move, and solar can take over when parked up.

You’ll need:

  • Cable from your starter battery to the charger, and from the charger to the leisure battery (usually between 6–10 metres in total)

  • A 60A fuse between the charger and the leisure battery

  • 4 battery lugs and some heat shrink

  • 18–16 AWG copper cable to connect to the ignition circuit

Our charger uses smart, multi-stage charging (Bulk, Absorption, Float) to fully charge your battery without overdoing it. It automatically adjusts the voltage and current, helping extend your battery’s life and keeping it safe.

Most solar kits have a dirty little secret they don't tell you about:
They waste valuable power.
Here's the deal

12V solar panels actually output around 20V

12V leisure batteries charge at just over 12V*

Standard PWM controllers simply drop those extra 8V — throwing away precious power

In cloudy Britain where every watt counts, this is a problem.
The Voltanic Difference

Every Voltanic Kit takes those wasted volts and converts them into extra amps using Advanced MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) Technology.

Harvest 100% of your Solar Energy - No wasted watts

Charge your Batteries 30% Faster

More Power, Fewer Panels - Perfect for tight spaces

Better Value Investment - Get what you pay for

Maximum Power. Zero Waste.
